Theology: The BLESS Fund
The Division of Theology equips those called to preach and teach by supplying students with the tools they need to study the Word. To achieve this goal, the BLESS (Biblical Library Empowering Student Service) Fund was created to support the purchase of the LOGOS software library for theology students. Students will learn to use these biblical tools and resources both while at Vanguard and beyond graduation, wherever the Lord sends them to serve Him.
Giving Day 2023 Update
Because of Giving Day 2023, more than 200 undergraduate, professional studies, and graduate students benefitted from your generous support! We implemented course instruction experiences tied to specific learning objectives to teach students how to effectively use LOGOS software. Students are gaining skills to use LOGOS Bible software for their research in the classroom, ministerial service, and lifelong leadership as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Why should donors support?
The BLESS Fund equips students to study, preach, and teach the Word. You can be part of this ongoing Kingdom purpose by giving today and empowering theology students as they fulfill their callings.
Now, more than ever, students need accessible resources, both during current pandemic realities, as well as after graduation while on the mission field, in local churches, or wherever the Lord commissions them. We intend to see our students equipped and prepared, so the Word will continue going forth from VU alumni, as has been our mission from the beginning.
The BLESS Fund enhances the experience of VU students by providing them with the tools they need right now in their studies. These resources remain theirs to use for the rest of their lives and in ministry to future generations. The BLESS Fund is entirely dedicated to purchasing biblical studies software licenses for VU theology students. Faculty members strongly support this fund with personal donations.
Student Imapact
"They say that God has a way of surprising us, and blessing us, in ways that we could have never imagined on our own. If I could sum up my time in the VU Theology program, it would be saying just that. In my time at Vanguard, I was equipped with skills to learn and teach the word of God on a deeper level. I would say the most important resources that you gain from this program are the connections that you develop with your professors, and the subscription to the Logos bible software that you get to keep as long as you want! I use it for sermon/devotional prep, and for my own person growth in the word on a weekly basis!" Samuel Lucas '22
How will funds be used?
These funds will be used to make our $20,000 payment towards the total yearly $40,000 cost of providing our students with LOGOS Bible software.
