Women’s Soccer: A New Era of Competition
Our hope within the Vanguard women’s soccer program is to create the space for our student-athletes to discover who God is and who he has created them to be as his Beloved. Everything we do–on and off the field–is designed to help the athletes engage in life from a place of worthiness.
We do this by consistently practicing the values of courage, creativity, and competition.
This year, we are raising funds for four important aspects of our program: Goalkeeper Coach, Team Retreat, Team Travel, and Team Gear.
Giving Day 2023 UpdateGiving Day 2023 was a wonderful success! The generosity of 65 donors allowed us to purchase an elite film system to help with player development as well as live-streaming games to family and friends. We also purchased important equipment to aid in injury prevention and recovery. We are so grateful to all of you for helping to set us up well to compete at the next level!
How will funds be used?
The funds raised from Giving Day 2024 will be used to reach toward higher levels of excellence and ambition:
Goalkeeper Coach: $10,000
In order to compete at the next level and give our team an excellent student-athlete experience, we need a goalkeeper coach. This past spring, Coach Klinks generously offered her time to work with our keepers, and it is our desire to keep her on-staff.
Team Retreat: $5,000
A cornerstone of our program is our Training Camp Retreat. When we return after the summer break, we take the team to a retreat center for a few days. The team bonding and connection that occurs in this brief getaway is invaluable to our overall team chemistry. Starting our season in this way creates the space for vulnerability and trust to be built, two key ingredients in the spiritual formation we hope to encourage in our time together.
Team Travel: $10,000
As we look to take the next step and compete at the DII level, we will travel to new destinations. Your donation will help supplement the team travel budget and ensure our players are prepared to play at their best.Team Gear: $5,000

The transformation that takes place during the years spent on a college soccer team is invaluable. The hours and hours of training, games, bus rides, team meals, and team activities all collect to shape who our student-athletes are becoming as they step out into a world beyond Vanguard.
We want VU to be a place whose reputation on and off the field beckons those from afar to come and see what we are all about so that they, too, can be transformed by what God is doing within this program. The next step in raising the level of our program is meeting the heightened demands of our new competition in the NCAA DII.
