Women’s Volleyball: Establishing a Spiritual Foundation
Vanguard women's volleyball is raising funds to assist with several opportunities for our student-athletes in the 2024-2025 academic year as we make the leap to NCAA DII. Our generous donors help us create the best experience we can for our student athletes. We planned a trip to Point Loma for a pre-season tournament, reinvented our spiritual retreat for a larger roster, and we purchased new uniforms and new balls as our requirements have changed in the PacWest conference. We have other needs related to travel costs, and equipment that your generous donation will help to offset.
Giving Day 2023 Update Last year’s Giving Day funds went toward a fantastic spiritual retreat where we honed our team culture and prepared ourselves for the possibilities the season could bring. We also went on a pre-season trip to Southern Oregon where we beat ranked teams and set ourselves up for success for the year.We had a fantastic year that led us to the top 8 of the NAIA. Thank you, donors, friends, families, and alumni, for supporting us, with finances, prayer, and presence.
Why should donors support this fund?
Our work on building a strong bonded culture, how we relate, challenge, and compete, stem out of the mission and call that Jesus has on our lives. Donating to the women’s volleyball program isn't just about travel expenses. Rather, it's about sustaining an environment for our women to be fed spiritually and build into the lives and community of teams around them. It's about providing an environment of generosity, where they are loved and supported with the right resources to make them the most competitive program they can be, on and off the field.
Student Impact
“Giving Day means so much to my team and our school. This day provides us with funding for everything from jerseys and gear to travel costs, meals, equipment, and so much more. Because of these donations, our volleyball team was able to travel to Ashland, Oregon and compete in a pre-season tournament where we played nationally ranked teams. These competitive games helped us get better early on. They were a huge reason that we were able to go undefeated in conference play to then go on to Nationals in Sioux City, Iowa. So, it's with a heart full of gratitude that I thank you for gifts small and large as it helps us to compete and represent Vanguard University. Go Lions!” Kate Phillips '24
How will funds be used?
Giving Day funds will be used to continue to create the best possible experience for our student athletes. These funds help assist in covering new uniforms, new NCAA volleyballs, team travel, and other costs associated with conducting our season.
